Alexander Zverev said goodbye to the Rio Open presented by Claro earlier than he would like. But after playing the carioca event for the first time, he hopes to play in Rio more times.

“It was very unfortunate to finish a tournament like this, but I still enjoyed my time in Rio. I really hope I can come back and do better next time”, said the German after his quarterfinal match against Argentine Francisco Comesana on Friday.

“This is one of the most beautiful 500 events that I’ve played. It’s really an amazing tournament, you know, the city is amazing, the site is amazing. I really enjoyed myself here. It’s really a shame I couldn't play better and I couldn't win the match because I was in a winning position to be in the semifinals. And yeah, it's the way it is sometimes in sports.
